If you haven't tried out VoIP before, it would be a good time to do so.

Skype 3.0 - the new version of Skype

SkypeOut for US will no longer free. However, you can buy US/Canda calling for 14.95$ (till Jan 2007) & 29.95$ later. Looks like a good deal. However, you still have to pay the normal rates to call other countries.

Local International Calling?

Futurephone offers Free International Calls - All you need to do is call up a Gateway Number (US) and dial-in your destination number. Looks like they are offering calls to over 50 countries. I don't know what the catch here is, neither do I know whether this works - check it out anyway.
